A research team in Jalisco, Mexico is repurposing brewer’s spent grain, a byproduct of beer production, into valuable products through an initiative promoting a Circular Bioeconomy. Collaborating with Grupo Cielito Lindo, they transform this waste into ethanol, plant growth promoters, and molecules with nutritional value. By using environmentally friendly technologies, they plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide nutritional alternatives for community dining facilities.
