Bag manufacturer Freitag has added to its line of upcycled products by introducing two new bags crafted from discarded airbags and truck tension belts. The company sourced materials from European recycling centers, using airbags that had been installed in cars but not deployed, as well as those that failed a quality control test and were therefore never used commercially. The bags’ airbag fabric ensures durability and lightweight functionality, with an “airbag effect” that causes them to expand into a 3D shape when opened. Freitag has also created a repair patch system for the bags to extend the products’ lifespan in case of damage. Read more about Freitag’s upcycled airbag products.
