Largest and most advanced recycling facility in North America opens in Columbus,Ohio, with 98% annual recovery rate
Rumpke Waste & Recycling has opened North America’s largest and most advanced recycling facility, the Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center, in Columbus, Ohio. The 226,000 square-foot facility improves recycling capacity by increasing processing from 160,000 to 250,000 tons of material annually with a recovery rate of 98%. The center features state-of-the-art technology, including 19 optic sorters, AI, and ballistic separators, making recycling more efficient and accessible. The facility also has a 3,000 square-foot education center, developed in collaboration with the Center of Science & Industry, to teach the public about recycling through interactive exhibits.
