Glasgow upcycling initiative marks decade of environmental impact
The Wheatley Foundation’s Home Comforts initiative has marked its 10-year anniversary, contributing to Glasgow’s circular economy by collecting and refurbishing over 26,000 items, such as furniture and white goods, for local residents. This initiative has diverted over 143 tonnes of waste from landfills in just one year, promoting sustainability and waste reduction. Recently relocating to a new, larger facility, Home Comforts continues to refurbish pre-loved items, enhancing their lifespan and reducing the need for new products. This initiative supports vulnerable communities while strengthening Glasgow’s commitment to circular economy principles and waste diversion. Learn more about this innovative initiative.
