Brock University has launched an EcoStation in the Market Hall dining area to promote sustainable waste disposal. This initiative enables students, faculty, staff, and guests to separate organics, recyclables, and garbage efficiently, aligning with the university’s sustainability goals. The EcoStation features digital monitors guiding users on proper disposal methods and includes a sink with a built-in cup rinser to encourage the use of reusable containers. This development complements existing waste and recycling programs across campus, addressing the unique challenges of the Market Eatery, which serves meals in take-out form. Malcolm Dales, Director of Dining, Conference, and Brock Card, emphasized that the EcoStation simplifies responsible waste disposal, significantly contributing to the university’s commitment to sustainability and waste diversion.
