Pakistan school is teaching students how to upcycle garbage into useful items

Pakistan’s Saaf Mohala Saaf Pakistan (which translates to clean neighborhood clean Pakistan) primary school is promoting the circular economy in a country where garbage management infrastructure is lacking. The school has trained approximately 250 students to upcycle waste like plastic bags and tetra packs into various items, such as pencil holders and ropes. By bringing waste from their own homes, students have helped divert 600 kilograms of waste from landfills in the last four years. Read more about Saaf Mohala Saaf Pakistan’s upcycling curriculum.
