Alberta proposes bill that enables creation of extended producer responsibility framework

The Minister of Environment and Parks Alberta has proposed Bill 83, The Environmental Protection and Enhancement Amendment Act that would enable the creation of an extended producer responsibility (EPR) framework for the province. If passed, the Bill will make producers of paper, plastics, and hazardous materials take responsibility for their products to help Alberta tackle their waste problem.
