American companies BASF and Nanotech Energy turn recycled materials into lithium-ion batteries

BASF, a chemical manufacturer, will soon produce cathode active materials for Nanotech Energy’s lithium-ion battery cells using recycled materials at the Battle Creek manufacturing plant. By collaborating with the American Battery Technology Company (a battery recycler) and Toda Advanced Materials (a metal hydroxide materials maker), this partnership will help reduce CO emissions while recovering battery materials.
