An electronics recycling centre in Kenya is keeping harmful materials out of the environment
The Waste Electrical and Electronics Equipment Centre is combating e-waste by collecting and recycling items from 100+ collection centres across Kenya. The centres refurbish or repair items that still have life in them and recycle items beyond repair. Items containing elements and materials that can’t be recycled locally are sent to recycling facilities in Europe for safe disposal.
