BC relaunches cup recycling pilot at select IC&I locations
In an effort to find a recycling solution for coffee and drink cups in the commercial and public sectors, the province of British Columbia alongside Metro Vancouver, Tim Hortons and A&W implemented a pilot program in 2020. Due to delays with the COVID-19 pandemic, the province plans to relaunch the pilot with Starbucks joining their existing partners. All types of disposable cups, lids, and sleeves will be collected in select industrial, commercial and institutional (IC&I) locations and will be used to identify collection and recycling alternatives.
