Cadbury Australia, in collaboration with Amcor, a global packaging solutions company, is using recycled plastic to wrap its core chocolate range, aiming to achieve around 50% recycled plastic for wrappers across its chocolate blocks, bars, and pieces produced in the country. The move is part of Cadbury’s broader goal to reduce virgin plastic use. Amcor will source approximately 1,000 tonnes of recycled plastic, which is expected to be enough for around 500 million family blocks of Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. The recycled material rollout is set to begin in the first quarter of the year, starting with blocks and expanding into other product lines. Read more about recycled chocolate wrappers.
