Can education curb recycling contamination?
New research from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) investigates how effective public education campaigns are in reducing the amount of contamination in curbside recycling programs. The findings indicate that while educating residents improved results for households that had low to moderate levels of contamination, the education did not improve results for households with higher rates of contamination.
