College helps students accurately sort waste using new scanning technology

Cambrian College is using technology to reduce its carbon footprint, using the OscarSort trash sorting system to help students accurately sort waste by scanning items and directing them to recycling or compost bins. The college has also partnered with SicSox Circular to collect used textiles to be repurposed as housing insulation. These initiatives are helping advance Cambrian’s sustainability goals as well as the UN’s Sustainable Development objectives. Other eco-friendly additions include increased numbers of bike racks and carpool parking spots. Learn more about Cambrian College’s sustainability efforts.
