Inspired by the rural tradition of Merindar, where people left water and food for travelers, the Comunidar project has been launched in Bucharest at Mezanin in the Universul Palace, encouraging people to exchange “preloved” items. Initiated by designer Alina Vîlcu and facilitated by the Environ Association, which focuses on electronic waste collection and recycling and promotes sustainable living education, the project allows individuals to bring items they no longer use (electronics, books, decor, clothing, toys, etc.) to the space and choose something they like that someone else has contributed.
