“Don’t Feed the Landfills” project helps eliminate 22 million pounds of waste in National Parks
The Don’t Feed the Landfills project, launched in 2015 by Subaru of America and the National Parks Conservation Association, has significantly reduced landfill waste in national parks. Initially piloted in Denali, Grand Teton, and Yosemite National Parks, the initiative has helped eliminate 22 million pounds of waste through recycling, composting, and education. Key efforts include enhanced recycling and composting systems, standardized bin labeling, and new bear-proof containers, educational programs for visitors, and more.
