Guelph city council moves up start of single-use plastics ban

Guelph city council has voted to move up the start date of a single-use plastics ban from March 1, 2023, to January 1, 2023. City staff recommended a ban on most single-use items such as plastic shopping bags, including non-certified compostable bags and biodegradable bags, polystyrene cups and takeout containers.
