How a city in England is reducing their curbside plastic use
The town of Basildon is rolling out two new initiatives to reduce curbside plastic use. First, the city plans to introduce reusable sacks to collect recyclable items rather than using single-use plastic bags. Their city council reports that they currently dispose of 10 million single-use bags and that moving to reusable bags will reduce costs for processing and increase recycling rates. Their second change involves moving from black plastic bags to wheeled bins for residual waste. Learn more about Basildon’s plans.
