How industrial byproducts can be repurposed to absorb carbon and create valuable resources

Carbon Upcycling, a Calgary-based company focused on circular decarbonization in “heavy” industries, presented an innovative approach to decarbonizing these sectors at the Energy Disruptors: UNITE 2024 conference. The process uses byproducts from sectors like steel and mining to absorb carbon, while also producing a blended cement product. The cement created from this process uses a fraction of carbon compared to typical cement production. Carbon Upcycling has partnered with several large cement companies to apply its sustainable technology more widely. Learn more about carbon upcycling in heavy industries.
