The European Parliament voted to ban single-use plastics such as cutlery, straws, cotton buds and stirrers in all EU member states by 2021. The law also creates new targets for the manufacturing of plastic bottles and introduces mandatory environmental warnings for packaging. Learn more about the EU’s ban.
