Medical waste recycling pilot project recycles 40,000 pounds of syringes in under a year

Beckton Dickinson, a global medical technology company, has demonstrated a successful recycling pilot project with Casella, a waste management company based in Vermont. Since February, they have recycled 40,000 pounds of medical syringes that were thrown out by healthcare facilities. Soon, the program will expand, becoming available at more hospitals and other facilities, as well as recycling medical waste in addition to syringes.
