Mexico City enacts a Circular Economy Law

Mexico City has enacted a Circular Economy Law that includes three instruments to encourage sustainability policies in companies: the Circularity Assessment Procedure, Circularity Label, and Circular Economy Public Information System. The Circularity Assessment Procedure is a voluntary evaluation of a company’s processes, products, and services against circularity criteria developed by Mexico City’s Secretariat for the Environment. Companies that meet the established levels of compliance will be able to use the circularity label on their assessed processes, products, and services. The Digital Agency for Public Innovation of Mexico City will also develop the Circular Economy Public Information System to register, organize, update, and post information on the circular economy in Mexico City.
