Mexico City wants to power local buses with used cooking oil
Discarding used cooking oils improperly can have harmful effects on fish and waterways. That’s why several vendors of classic fried snack foods in Mexico City are selling their used cooking oil to a local plant that processes it into an additive for biodiesel. The final product is used to power local buses and also reduces the amount of diesel being burned in the engines, producing less pollution.
