Moving Canada toward zero plastic waste

plastic waste on beach

The Government of Canada has made the health of oceans and addressing plastic pollution a priority. In 2010, Canadians released about 8,000 tonnes of plastic into waterways. Since 1994, more than 1.2 million kilograms of waste has been collected from Canadian shores. The Government is consulting on ways to move Canada toward zero plastic waste. Have your say.

The Municipal Resource Recovery and Research Collaborative (M3RC) works on behalf of all Ontario municipalities to develop and promote policies that support the transition to a circular economy. Read their submission to the consultation.
