New accelerator funding waste to value businesses in East Africa

Bestseller Foundation, a private philanthropic organization, announced the first three companies that will receive technical and financial support to grow their waste to value businesses.

Kenya-based Zijani is a start-up that repurposes used cooking oil into soap and biofuel. Another Kenyan startup, Gjenge Makers, produces building materials made from recycled plastic waste. Yo-Waste is a Uganda-based waste management business that created an app to connect households and businesses to local collection sites. Read more here.
