New battery recycling program launches for e-bikes in the U.S.
PeopleForBikes in partnership with Call2Recycle has established the industry’s first e-bike battery recycling program in the United States. Lithium-ion batteries in e-bikes contain materials that can be difficult to source and dispose of responsibly. The new e-bike battery recycling program hopes to address these concerns by targeting and training electric bicycle retailers to safely collect and ship the batteries to be recycled. Over time recyclers hope to increase their recovery rate so that fewer raw materials need to be extracted. Learn more.
