The District of North Vancouver has passed a new bylaw that will require wood from homes built before 1950 to be salvaged. The bylaw is focused on upcycling, recycling, and diverting as much waste as possible from homes built before 1950 because the materials are easier to deconstruct. The new rules will take effect at the start of 2023 and will require 3.5 kilograms of wood to be salvaged for each square foot torn down. Learn more.
