New York State finalizes laws to decrease e-waste and foam packaging
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner has announced the finalization of two regulations: The NYS Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act and the Expanded Polystyrene Foam Container and Polystyrene Loose Fill Packaging Ban. The adoption of these regulations will significantly reduce the number of items going to the landfill, while also increasing consumer recycling opportunities, emphasizing producer responsibility and improving the overall collection and performance of waste programs.
