News from the G7 environment and energy ministers’ meeting

From September 18-21, environment and energy ministers from G7 countries met in Halifax. Here are some news items that emerged during the meeting:

• A coalition of businesses, non-governmental organizations, think tanks and sustainability experts launch the Circular Economy Leadership Coalition
• The Canadian government aims to eliminate single-use plastics from federal operations
• Major businesses sign the plastic charter that targets waste and ocean pollution
