Since its launch in 2009, PaintCare, a nonprofit organization created by paint manufacturers, has managed over 10,000 large volume pickups for recycling large quantities of leftover paint. PaintCare operates paint stewardship programs in ten states and the District of Columbia, offering drop-off locations for small amounts of post-consumer paint and free large volume service for larger amounts. The service helps consumers save on disposal costs and ensures environmentally safe recycling and reuse of paint. To date, PaintCare has collected over 3 million gallons of leftover paint.
