Paris Olympic Games podiums will be made from recycled plastics
At this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, athletes receive their medals standing on podiums made entirely from recycled plastic food containers. The podiums are being produced by a recyclable materials startup called Le Pavé in France which works out of a repurposed steel foundry. In addition to the podiums, they have also created 11,000 bleacher seats for nearby sports arenas composed of recycled materials like shampoo bottles and bottle caps.
