SokoFresh, a Kenyan company, uses solar-powered storage facilities to help small-scale farmers keep their produce fresh to prevent food waste. Due to the high temperatures, produce perishes very quickly after being harvested. With over 90% of Kenya’s produce coming from small-scale farmers who cannot afford cold storage, there is a large amount of food waste.
