Project aims to use rubber de-vulcanization process to improve tire recycling and reuse by extracting raw materials
The Life Green Vulcan project in Italy hopes to revolutionize tire recycling and reuse through an innovative and environmentally-friendly rubber de-vulcanization process. This selective process has the potential to extract raw materials from end-of-life tires, replacing almost all virgin rubber and making products more sustainable. The project predicts a significant increase in current recycle and reuse rates, potentially reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 15% for spring pads and 7% for tire treads. The initiative involves collaboration between automotive, tire, and recycling sectors, as well as experts from the University of Trento. Read more about the tire recycling project.
