Protecting mangrove forests by upcycling marine plastic pollution into shirts

Mangroves

July 26 is the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem. This day raises awareness about mangrove ecosystems and promotes their sustainable management and conservation.

CP Foods, a Thai agro-industrial and food business is teaming up with local fishermen to upcycle plastic bottles found in the ocean into shirts for their employees. CP Foods encourages fishermen to collect marine trash to encourage responsible waste management and to help clean up the ocean’s ecosystems. The company has also been involved with implementing a “Grow-Share-Protect Mangrove Forestation” project since 2014. Learn about how their partnership with fishermen is helping to protect and conserve mangroves and coastal ecosystems.
