Recycling companies launch first successful commercial application of AI-powered WEEE and metals sorting
Recycleye, a technology company specializing in AI-powered automated sorting for waste and materials management, has partnered with SWEEEP Kuusakoski, a company specializing in the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Together, they deployed an optical sorter that uses AI and machine learning to sort e-waste for recycling. The technology can detect specific items such as printed circuit boards (PCBs) in WEEE and multi-material batteries, improving the sorting process and enabling the extraction of valuable materials for recovery.
