The updated ’50 States of Recycling’ report by Eunomia Research & Consulting and Ball Corporation provides a comprehensive assessment of recycling practices across the United States. Key findings reveal that nine out of the ten states with the highest recycling rates have implemented recycling refunds, contributing significantly to recycling efforts. These states, representing 27% of the US population, account for 47% of all packaging recycled. States with recycling refunds achieve 34% closed-loop recycling rates, while non-refund states achieve only 7%.
