Researchers from the United Kingdom extract precious metals from e-waste

UK chemists have partnered with Canadian startup Excir to discover a clean, energy-efficient, and top-secret method for salvaging 99% of the gold hidden in e-waste such as laptop and phone circuit boards. Using this technique, the Royal Mint will open a factory intended to process 90 tonnes of circuit boards per week and reduce our reliance on raw materials.
