Asics has launched the Nimbus Mirai, a running shoe designed for use in the circular economy. Runners can send their old shoes back through a new returns program at the end of their use for recycling. The Nimbus Mirai incorporates recycled materials in its design, including an upper created for recycling and a midsole cushioning made with renewable sources. Asics aims to reuse materials from returned shoes in future shoe production. The Nimbus Mirai project began two years ago, with a focus on separating the upper from the sole after use using proprietary glue. Read more about Asics’s recyclable shoes.
