In Saskatoon, a new service called Reroute aims to simplify recycling and waste disposal. Founded by Launne Kolla and her husband, the service offers scheduled pickups for various items including waste, recyclables, and donations. They collect items like aerosol cans, old makeup, small appliances, printer ink, batteries, and clothing, ensuring they are diverted from landfills. Customers can schedule pickups online, leaving items on their doorstep for collection. Reroute takes materials to appropriate facilities like recycling centers and shelters, and customers can choose to keep or donate refunds from recycling. The service starts at $10 per pickup, aiming to make responsible disposal more convenient and environmentally friendly for Saskatoon residents and businesses. Read more about Reroute.
