Simcoe County achieves milestone during battery collection week
Simcoe County, in partnership with Call2Recycle Canada, achieved a significant milestone during its November 2024 Battery Collection Week, recycling over 50,000 kilograms of used batteries. This event marks one of Call2Recycle’s most successful initiatives in its 27-year history. Since 2020, the county’s efforts have diverted more than 225,000 kilograms of batteries from landfills, showcasing a strong commitment to recycling and environmental stewardship. The program serves Simcoe County’s 350,000 residents, offering accessible recycling through household hazardous waste depots and fostering awareness about responsible disposal.
