Supporting small farms and reducing food waste
A small family farm in British Columbia is reducing feed waste while educating livestock producers about safe feeding practices. The “zero-waste program” connects grocers with food banks and charities, as well as livestock producers, who use unsold food that grocers would otherwise throw away. In doing so, it diverts unsaleable food away from landfill while reducing staff time and saving disposal costs. Read more about the sustainable program and why it considers farming to be the ultimate recycling engine.
