This company recycles old campaign signs into fuel

Hillsborough County partnered with NuCycle Energy to scour their neighbourhoods to collect election and snip signs to recycle. Previously these signs would go straight to the landfill because they are made with polypropylene, which is extremely difficult to recycle. The company reports they have collected approximately 30,000 signs, which will be sorted, shredded, and condensed into cubes and used as an alternative fuel. Read more.
