Tim Hortons announces three new sustainability initiatives
Tim Hortons has announced three sustainability initiatives based on their Tims For Good platform. Tim’s is testing new cups that are partially made from recyclable material and can be recycled and composted after use. They are also piloting the use of artificial intelligence at select restaurants in Canada to help guests scan packaging items to determine whether they can go in the recycling, compost, or trash. Tim’s third initiative involves piloting a reusable and returnable packaging program where guests receive their food in reusable containers. Guests can deposit the used containers in return bins located at participating restaurants where they will be washed and sanitized before reuse. Read more.
