Toronto conducts new test of compostable coffee pods
Following testing at one of the City’s processing facilities, the test shows that certified compostable coffee pods break down in the pre-processing stage of the City’s main green bin food waste process. The hope is that the results will encourage coffee companies to use a common format for coffee pods, making it simpler for consumers to know what to do with the pods after use and help cut rising waste management costs.
