Gagan Singh, an entrepreneur from Toronto, aims to make his new app SIXR the “Amazon of sustainability” by incentivizing sustainable clothing purchases. The circular economy app provides users with information on each garment via QR codes, including material composition, manufacturer details, place of production, care instructions, and a return option for reuse or recycling. The app seeks to change consumer behavior by offering financial incentives for clothing returns. George Brown College’s FOR TOMORROW hoodies, made from 70% recycled cotton and 30% recycled polyester, are the first items listed on the SIXR app. Read more about the circular economy clothing app.
