Mura Technology has innovated a method for recycling plastic that uses water heated to extreme temperatures rather than combustion to break down the bonds in plastic waste. The oils derived from this process can be made into food-grade plastic and reprocessed indefinitely. The company will open its first large-scale commercial plant in late 2023, with plans to divert and recycle 20,000 tonnes of plastic annually. Read more about recycling plastic using heated water.
