Using Toronto’s organic waste to make nutrient-rich manure

Plants growing in soil

Wastenot Farms, based in Caledon Ontario, is transforming food waste from Toronto-area companies into healthy soil that can be used to grow healthier food. Food waste is dropped off at the farm where it is fed to worms. The worms digest the waste to create manure, where it is then dried and analyzed before it is bagged and distributed to farms to grow produce. Learn more.
