Washington State is considering a new law to require the recycling of batteries, including those in electric vehicles. It would also establish requirements that ensure close proximity of drop-off sites for most residents. Washington already has disposal stewardship programs for five types of waste, including electronics and paint, but this is the first time it is expanding into bigger battery categories. Learn more.
