The Authority is forming a Service Provider Advisory Council

On October 15th, the Honourable David Piccini, Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks issued a letter directing the Authority to establish a Service Provider Advisory Council.

The Authority’s existing Service Provider Advisory Group (SPAG) will continue until the end of 2021, at which point the Advisory Group will be dissolved.

The Minister’s direction provides that:

  • The new Council will be made up of a maximum of 11 members from the waste management sector representing a cross-section of the service provider community, including municipal representation.
  • The Council will provide advice to the Authority during the business planning process, matters the Authority is consulting on, and other topics determined by the Council or directed by the Minister.
  • The Authority will determine the Council membership in consultation with industry and the Ministry. The Authority will also consult and seek feedback on the Council’s terms of reference.

Service provider representatives interested in joining the Council or providing feedback on the Council’s terms of reference should contact Cameron Parrack, Manager of Programs & Planning at: cparrack@rpra.ca.

All expressions of interest and feedback must be received by the Authority on or before November 15, 2021.
