Updated timeline for hazardous and special products supply and performance reporting
The timeline for completing hazardous and special products (HSP) supply and performance reporting will be delayed. The July 31 reporting deadline in the HSP Regulation will not be enforced. The new deadline to submit these reports will be September 15, 2023.
RPRA’s Registrar has decided to delay reporting for the following reasons:
- Alignment of supply and performance reporting timeline: Due to the extended consultation on the revised proposal for 2023 HSP program fees, the opening of supply reporting is delayed until the fees have been finalized and posted. Delaying performance reporting to begin at the same time as supply will reduce burden of having to submit reports on separate timelines.
- More time for producers to prepare for supply data verification reporting: Read Appendix B of the Hazardous and Special Products Verification and Audit Procedure for detailed direction.
Reminders
Producers must identify their PRO in their Registry account
For a producer responsibility organization (PRO) to report performance activities on a producer’s behalf, the producer must identify their PRO in their Registry account prior to reporting opening. Once you have contracted with a PRO, your account admin must log into your Registry account to select them as your PRO in your account. For step-by-step instructions, view our guidance document or how-to video.
Performance audit delayed until the Fall
RPRA’s Registrar is delaying the performance audit requirement for producers, and PROs reporting on their behalf, the ongoing development of the Hazardous and Special Products Resource Recovery Performance Audit Procedure. Only performance data is required to be submitted by the September 15, 2023 deadline. The performance audit will be required later this year once the procedure is finalized. RPRA will share further information at that time.
